Kia Ora. I’m Denise, a registered Nurse with 41 years’ experience.
I’ve worked at Te Whatu Ora working in Medical, Surgical, Cardiology, and Older Persons Health including rehabilitation and assessment.
For the last 17 years I have been working in Primary Heath Care with the Acute Demand team at the 24-Hour Surgery.
While I’ve been working in the community setting I’ve noticed how difficult it is to access good quality basic foot care.
I now provide convenient and accessible specialised foot and nail care from my own clinic in Halswell. This is gentle RN led care focused on comfort, mobility and dignity.
Foot disorders in the elderly are extremely common and can cause pain, disability, reduced mobility and loss of independence.
My Goal is helping People Stay Mobile, Independent and Comfortable on their feet, so they can keep on doing what they love.
Poor foot health can also lead to serious infection and complications if not managed promptly.

At your first assessment I will look at your health history, current foot health routine and follow with a visual inspection of your feet. I will check your sensation and circulation too.
I will inspect your current foot wear and offer advice if required.
I will then trim nails, reduce any corns or callous as required and commence treatment on any fungal nails, thickened or dystrophic nails.
Should I consider your foot care needs to extend past my scope of practice, I will refer you to your GP or Podiatrist.
I recommend follow up treatment every 6-8 weeks to keep your feet healthy and comfortable.
